For Whom the Bell Tolls
The storyline is very deep and sometimes a little confusing. Within and between the chapters you are always moving from place to place. One second a person is pointing a gun to your head and the next second you are riding at top speed on a horse saying "whew! Now that was close!" Some parts are a bit romantic, which I tend to skip over. There is a lot of conversation in the text, and it seemed to go on forever. There is much conflict between the characters, for example Pablo is often arguing with his wife who is in charge at their secret hideout. There is not much violence if that's what you're looking for. There is much talk of strategies and tactics of an attack. Espionage is always in progress with everyone spying on the next person. If you like guerilla warfare this is a book for you.
